sand and rocks and shifting light
silt and stones and changing tides
fish and seals and rubber eels

the hermits come to make amends
and loiter there at seaweed bend
the light moves down the scene and all
make the light gonna make the starfish crawl

calling whales and sea-grass mounds
diving birds that swim around
yellowfin and tired sharks
sun goes down and the cove gets dark

an otters' tail in the rockweed shines
couple of rays in the seafloor brine
blue mud shrimp and bullwhip kelp
hiss of the waves on the glittering smelt

drifting
all for a glimpse through the minds' islands
just shorts and a mask and some rubber fins
drifting
lulled in a trance

dont get caught in the crab trap
but we like it in the crab trap
